HISTORY

ILP Perai was established in 1972 and has been operated since 1974. ILP Perai is the second oldest institute under Jabatan Tenaga Manusia (JTM) after ILP Kuala Lumpur which was operated in 1964.

After operating for more than 22 years, on 1st June 1996, ILP Perai was privatised through Privatisation Policy under Koperasi Usaha Bersatu Berhad (KUBH) and changed its name to Institut Teknologi Tun Abdul Razak (ITTAR).

However, for certain reasons, this institution was taken over by the government once again and placed under the management of Jabatan Tenaga Manusia (JTM) on 1st October 2007.

ILP Perai has been redeveloped by renovating the infrastructure such as administrative buildings, workshops, dormitories, dining halls, sports facilities, and other amenities. The management is also working on adding additional facilities for the benefit of all staff and students at ILP Perai.

There are a total of 96 employees that have been placed at ILP Perai so far. This is including former ITTAR staff members who have been absorbed into ILP Perai after the government’s taking over its operation. These are among the directors who have managed ILP Perai as well as ITTAR:
